Inaugural Brunch at Cravin Cajun Novotel Al Barsha

If you are a fan or familiar with the American TV show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives aka triple D, you must have heard the mentions of Creole dishes, Cajun food or Louisiana southern-style cooking.

You need not travel far if cravin for this type of comfort food because it is already here in Dubai at the famous Cravin Cajun in Novotel Al Barsha. If that sounds good to you there is an even better news. The good news is they started serving Cajun Brunch every Saturday from 12:30 pm to 4 pm at this famous restaurant.

Yours truly was at the exclusive inaugural Cravin Brunch and we spent an afternoon of socializing and devouring into Creole inspired dishes from Louisiana-born Chef Jeffrey while sipping some creative cocktails and listening to live jazz. Ahlan! also covers the event thus we have this photo in their magazine right after, thanks Ahlan!

My best-buddy-ever-gorgeous-work-colleague Jeah was my lunch date

This was the first time I went to an event with the new hairstyle and was elated to received a few compliments from friends.

With my very witty blogger friend Grace

The room was soon filled with media people and was buzzing

Now let's talk about the food we all are Cravin' for.

The sure way to fire up your appetite is with this spicy sausage and prawn gumbo.

but in case you like it lighter then you can head to the starters table where your are served up with freash salads, prawn cocktails, deviled eggs, smoked salmon and more

And since we are talking Cajun here, let me give you a roulette what's on the days menu.

There is the crisp and flavourful Prawn popcorn

Tornadoes of steak and egg

Lyonnaise of Gulf Fish

Beef "debris" eggs - half a po'boy sandwich topped with poached egg

Foie gras pain perdu

Mardi gras rice

and Escargots en croute

I am salivating while uploading all these photos so I wouldn't judge if you are too. After the exquisite parade of delectable dishes, I will take you to the dessert table where there is the sweet savory brie en croute, pecan pie and other oh so diet-ravaging desserts, it's our little secret but don't blame me...

if this pecan pie added some extra calories to burn ayt?

I simply love this bar, the harmony in this area of the restaurant is captivating and the paintings at the back jazz up the look

Another shot from the opposite side
