Tom Jones Tribute by Tony Gold at Gozo Garden Millennium Aiport Hotel

Thursdays will never be the same since I discovered The Terrace-Gozo Garden Millennium Airport Hotel's great artist’s tributes done by world-class performers. The Blues Brothers and Phil Collins are among the tributes I have seen and the latest was the tribute to the Welsh singer Tom Jones by Tony Gold. They said Tina Turner's tribute was one of the best hence I will be thrilled to see her back on stage.

I grew familiar with Tom Jones songs because my late dad used to sing them and my brother also sings them during our karaoke nights, they are both his fan. I know quite a handful of songs of his like It's Not Unusual, Green Green Grass of Home, Delilah, She's A Lady, I Who Have Nothing, Please Release Me, I'll Never Fall In Love Again, and Yesterday which is all beautiful classic songs. I get to enjoy listening to these songs again during the tribute last May 1 along with a very special person, mentor, and a good old friend of mine who happened to be on a month's holiday in Dubai, Ms. Rebecca Tiongson. We used to call her Ma'am Becs, now a school principal in one of the schools in our city, she used to be our Guidance Counselor in high school and head of the Peer Facilitators Club where I belong. It really is a small world and at times you never know who you will bump with. Ma'am Becs, it was really really nice to see you again, and thank you for accepting this dinner invitation. I hope that you had a good time.

Tribute nights are every first and last Thursday of each month, an upcoming tribute is for the famous American singer-songwriter Lionel Richie by Jason Leigh on the 29th of May 2014. Also, every Thursday is Gozo Garden's BBQ Themed Nights where you can enjoy grilled specialties cooked right before your eyes along with other international cuisines on the spread.
