Thais with Armani

Sawasdee Dubai!

After attending the Amazing Taste of Thailand's relax and informal pre-launch dinner party at Nosh Restaurant Movenpick Hotel, it was followed by a more formal ceremony and main event the next day to officially launch the 10 day-long exhibition of Amazing Thailand at no other than the tallest tower in the world, the Burj Khalifa in a very classy setting at the Armani Ballroom, Armani Hotel.

Hubby dropped me off at the entrance of the hotel before 7 pm and left to take the kids to the mall. My heart was skipping a beat since I arrived alone which I'm not very used to.

I greeted the lovely ladies at the reception, give a few air kisses, signed the guest list and drop my business card before I descend to the venue.

The ambiance feels relax though mimicking the famous Thai fresh market setting and the warm welcoming smiles of the Thais is comforting. I'm glad  I arrived a few minutes early giving me a chance to snap a few photos of the exhibitors.

Seven well-known Thai restaurants in Dubai are exhibiting a fine selection of Thai cuisines like Benjarong, Blue Elephant, Chimes, Royal Orchid, Shang Thai, Thai Chi and The Royal Buddha.

Also exhibiting their products and services were Choithrams, Fakih Group of Companies, Gulf express Group, Nuts Valley, Relax Spa, Siam Tranquility Spa, Thai Smile Food Stuuf and WT International Trading

Moments later, the ribbon cutting ceremony started which was headed by the Royal Thai Consulate Consul General HE Thosaporn Moonlasartsathorn, Thailadn Ambassador to the UAE HE Warawudh Chuwiruch and other Thai Diplomats and Dignitaries

After the ribbon cutting, I took quite a few more photos then grab a some food samples

before joining this lovely couple Noor and Sherwin on their table to enjoy a sumptuous buffet

After dinner the most exciting thing happened, our names are called one at a time.

The generous Team Thailand was drawing the winners for the nights raffle draw giving away restaurant and spa vouchers courtesy of the participating exhibitors and an ultimate price of economy and business class tickets and hotel stay to Thailand for two. I got lucky to win two restaurant vouchers worth AED 200 each for Royal Orchid at Downtown Burj Boulevard, our experience on another post.

Meanwhile this beautiful couple seating next to me won an hour of oil massage for two at the Relax Spa. My friend Josh Mangila was the luckiest to win two prizes - one of it was the air tickets and hotel stay to Thailand, congrats Josh.

Kob Kum Mak Team Thailand!
