Go to Italy with Itzza Pizza ItzzaSelfie

Italy is one of the few places I'd like to visit with my family.

When I heard about itzzaselfie, a contest to selfie your way to Italy, I was very eager to take the family to try Itzza Pizza in Jumeirah. So far I only got twenty three likes.

Unless...

you can help us win this trip of a lifetime :P. It's this one here, posted on my instagram account @myyellowbells the same photo below.

Several friends who already selfie their way ahead of me have racked up in likes in their IG and FB pages already so it seems that my chances of winning is looking a bit gloomy, but that's just me.

You can still visit Itzza Pizza in any of their five branches around Dubai (Sheikh Zayed Road Sahara Tower, Downtown Burj Views, Mirdif Old Uptown, Jumeirah and JLT Paradise Tower Cluster R) and itzzaselfie your way to Italy. Contest last up to 30th of April 2015. Share it on your IG and FB pages and don't forget to use hash tags itzzaselfie, itzzapizza and itzzapizzauae. The photo with the most likes (consolidated) will win a trip to Italy (1st prize) / an iPhone 6 (2nd prize) / an iPad mini (3rd prize).

Now I tell you, Itzza Pizza got the best wood-fired pizza in town. I can now attest to that after the family and I dine in their dainty and cozy restaurant along Jumeirah road sometime ago. Not to mention their usage of fresh ingredients in all their dishes.

Did you know they were also voted by the people and awarded by Virgin Radio as best pizzeria in Dubai in 2012?

It didn't take long before we were seated, in a lovely corner where we had the full view of the whole restaurant. Katrina, our lovely and bubbly host talk us through the menu and gave her recommendations.

We started off with a starter trio, we chose BBQ wings which is sweet and savory, crunchy potato wedges and deep fried shrimp and calamari. We also had Buffalo wings but we liked the BBQ wings more.

Ferald and I shared the Buffalo wings while Prince and Mica went for the deep fried shrimp and calamari which disappeared in no time.

The caprese salad on a bed of romaine lettuce with balsamic vinegar dressing is simply irresistible and so refreshing. One of my favourite salads of all time. Simple yet so complex in flavours.

Micaela asked for her favourite chicken pasta alfredo, it is almost always the same pasta in every restaurant, what can I say my daughter has a discerning taste. I on the other hand ordered a meaty lasagna.

From a huge variety of pizzas on the menu we chose four, Itzza Classic, Itzza Spring, Buffalo Margherita and BBQ Chicken and ordered two round pizzas with two flavours on each.

Of course thin crust, light and crisp. I never wanted a thick crust pizza, I am all for the thin crust and this is just so perfect. My kids loved the Buffalo Margherita and the husband and I liked all four flavours. Couldn't be any happier with this kind of pizza. Comfort food at its finest.

We ended our dinner with a Chocolate Calzone. Home made dough with nutella and bananas. I tell you serve anything with nutella to my kids and you'll be the hero.

Special thanks to Kat for having us.

Itzza Pizza branch in Sheikh Zayed Road serves buffet for lunch from Sundays to Thusdays for AED 39, a new place for me and my colleagues to get lunch for our Thursday lunches.
