GUESS SS15

No comments:
Guess caught me off guard when their invitation for the SS15 Exclusive Fashion Show and Party to be held at the picturesque Bab Al Shams Desert Resort arrived on my inbox. I palpitated for a minute before coming back to my senses.

I didn't know what to wear!!! I don't have anything to wear!!! I am officially panicking.

Then I remember that I have this new maxi dress I've been saving for some event that I don't even know what is.

Yes I am very excited, it's GUESS and I don't know anyone who doesn't love Guess!!!

Although I have received a few invites for spring and summer fashion shows, this is the first fashion event I am attending this year. Thankfully, Krissy of K Vanity Project accepted to join me.

Floral Sheath Dress for Spring

No comments:
We dine at Shayan Persian Restaurant to celebrate Nowruz Festival or the first day of spring earlier this month.

I wore this red floral sheath dress I got from R&B Apparel. It is very comfortable and I love how it accentuates my voluptuous figure.

I paired it with my red wedged espadrille (not in the photo). For extra coverage since the dress is sleeveless, I wore a black top on top of it because the weather in Dubai is very unpredictable these days. I am always cold so I always need an extra layering piece.

Also wore it at work with a black cardigan with a flat sandals.

For a more dressy look to wear on night outs this spring, I was looking for a perfect pair of black strappy sandals to go with it. It can also be white or red and maybe a pretty jacket will be perfect as a layering piece. I went online and saw that Zalora has a broad range of stylish footwear for women. Click here to view the selection.

I have another dress for spring that is waiting for this particular shoes I was looking for. I don't know but my feet has changed and it suddenly became very sensitive. I favour comfort over looks so I take my time choosing my footwear these days. I have quite a few shoes I don't wear any more because it hurts to wear them. I'm really hoping to find that perfect pair real soon.

You know I seldom do an outfit post, I dress according to what's comfortable for me but I'd like to learn how to dress up for my body shape so I will try to do more fashion post, my daughter will also be having her own outfit post from time to time so watch this page for updates.

Do you have any suggestion on how I can style this floral dress? Let me know in the comments.

Why Are All The Boys In My Yard?

No comments:
We were into a lot of quotable quotes lately and I've been giving mom the low-down of what I am learning at school. I guess it got into her, she bought me this pretty grey top from Max Fashion with "why are all the boys in my yard?" question. I find it too cute with that ice cream with a cherry on top. I wore it when we went to the mall.

I am also wearing my uber comfy blue stretchable jeans from H&M, shoes from converse and bag from H&M.

A White Number

No comments:
So we came down to see the International Street Theatre and Comedy Fair at Al Ghurair Center, better known as DubFest 2015.

My daughter Micaela told me she wants to be a blogger like me, a fashion blogger to be exact. I have no objections, she is free whatever she wants to do as long as she is safe and keep school as her priority.

I asked her if she wants to co-author My Yellow Bells and she was ecstatic. I know it will not be easy but we can start with small steps until she is ready. She already shared too many ideas with me but for now she will be my model for each fashion post.

Dress: Forever21
Shoes: Max Fashion
Bag: H&M

GET READY FOR SUMMER!

No comments:
WOW! :D

Hello there. I saw this post this morning and I knew it. My 10 year old daughter ask me last night if she can use my Polyvore account to create a fashion mood board. She saw me doing a mood board the other night for the perfect concert outfit for JT's concert in Abu Dhabi Du Arena and she was so interested. At her age she still like dollz but also like betanymota, 1D and shoes, dresses, and all the cute stuff.

So yeah this is my daughter's first ever fashion mood board for summer! What do you think? I think it's pretty neat.

After discovering Polyvore, she'll probably abandon drawing paper dollz and its dresses and shoes and bags and accessories.

I did not dare to change anything in it, I just added the text here, even the title is hers. I think I'm save for today's post already :D

HAGS Guys!

GET READY FOR SUMMER!

The Perfect Concert Outfit #SIVVI4JT

The Perfect Concert Outfit #SIVVI4JT

Jumpsuits are in this season, not only they are very comfortable they're also very stylish, with the onset of summer, this jumpsuit has enough coverage but not too covered to feel warm during the concert. Never go wrong with gold accessories and comfy sandals and a bright coloured shoulder bag and you're ready to rock. Use your oversized sunnies while waiting for the concert to start at 7pm. I am pretty sure that du Arena will be packed even before sundown.
It is also perfect for the concert after party with friends, just add black stilettos or a back and nude (two-tone) peep-toe shoes.

Justin Timberlake is having a concert coming May 23 at du Arena Abu Dhabi and SIVVI.com is giving away 2 concert tickets. All you gotta do is to create a mood-board of a perfect concert outfit, post it on your blog, tweet it @shopsivvi and #SIVVI4JT to validate your entry.

Post update 19 May 2014

I crossed my fingers and toes after posting the mood board of the perfect concert outfit and hope that if it doesn't win, at least it gets par with other bloggers entry. I was completely wrong because the people of SIVVI.COM loved the ensemble.

When I open my email this morning I was completely blown to received the congratulatory email confirming I will be going to see the much awaited and talked about concert of Justin Timberlake in Abu Dhabi du Arena this weekend.

Shukran, Thank you.

Devi Jewels - a leading luxury diamond jewelry retailer has recently open its doors at Dubai's commercial and cultural hub, the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). Devi Jewels is a pioneering concept in fine jewelry retailing bringing exquisite and one-of-a-kind designer collections by world-renowned designers to the UAE.

The launch of the showroom was marked by a formal inauguration by Mr. John Harris, Chief Commercial Properties Officer, DIFC and Mr. Nirav Sanghvi, Founder and Director of Devi Jewels, among other senior officials of the DIFC.

The launch also saw the opening of a fine jewelry exhibition by India’s largest and oldest jewelers, Jewels Emporium, being held on March 16-18, 2014 at Devi Jewels. Jewels Emporium is showcasing its most exclusive jewelry collection, Master Strokes during the three-day exhibit.

This is my personal favorite - Panache (peacock).

Panache
An exquisite peacock feather goes around the neck ending with a 1.2 carat diamond, accented with droplets of water, as though romancing in monsoon. A 53.45 carat tanzanite with diamonds, forms eye of the feather. Set with diamonds, tsavorites, orange, pink & yellow sapphires, & French enameled tips in Champlev√© style, it captures hues of a peacock feather as it shimmers while dancing in rain. With 23.8 carats of 639 diamonds, 15.38 carats of sapphires and 5.9 carats of tsavorites, this jewel from the ‘Masterstrokes’ collection has been designed and created in 58 days.

Here are the rest of the Masterstrokes collection

Spa for your bags

No comments:
Prada, Channel, Gucci, Burberry, Louis Vuitton... how many authentic bags do you own and how are you keeping them in tip top shape?

Recently my sister requested me to run an errand for her. Her much loved LV bag (Galleria monogram brown patent canvas) needs some TLC and she wants me to take it to the spa for bags in Jumeirah. I didn't know that such spa for authentic bags do exist until she asked me. At first I think it's ridiculous but as the idea sinks in I thought that it is just right to give your very expensive bag some TLC instead of keeping/hiding it in your closet after it is worn out and old with folds, creases & wrinkles, ink stains, tarnish/scuff metals, wear & tear, color transfer and darkened handle and not fit to be carried around anymore.

I took my sister's bag at My Bag Spa located in Jumeirah Centre. It will take a month to do a full dye and partial cleaning. A full dye will be done to restore the color of the leather in the bag from the time it was purchased and a partial cleaning will be done on the inside and outside as well to remove stains and dirt. Once the leather is dyed, the color will remain the same forever unlike when it is untreated the leather is aging and the color is changing. The shop assistant also made me aware that in case my sister will sell the bag in the future and the buyer will check its authenticity with Louis Vuitton,  LV knowing that the bag has been treated will never certify its authenticity since the untreated leather has already been treated. That is the case with LV which apparently is part of the company policy. Its never a problem though if you are not going to sell it.

The cost of the full dye is AED 300 or $82 and partial cleaning is AED 100 or $27.
Total spa services for my sister's LV bag is AED 400 or $109, it's not bad right?

I don't know I am still not convinced, maybe because I don't own an LV until now, it's hard to say. At this time I'd rather treat myself to a Moroccan bath, who wants to join me? Yallah!

But yes if you would like to treat your bag to a spa, My Bag Spa is in Jumeirah Center at the first floor. They are also selling some authentic second hand bags there.

This is not a sponsored post, will just see in a months time if the service is good. Will keep you posted.

Ciao for now!
