Irritated Eyes

blink, scratch, blink again, scratch, blink harder, scratch more...

oh my this is getting harder. what on earth was I thinking, I should have changed my contact lenses right after it get smeared with mascara last Tuesday. I shouldn't have cleansed, stored and use again. Now its a disaster. imagine me struggling to write this article, oh I get red and teary eyed.

one of my colleague came to me and saw my eyes like this, red and tired, and told me that I should have with me my glasses, an eye drop and my contact lens container and solution. Right, I know, but I am so stubborn I keep thinking that I don't need them and that my contacts will work just fine everyday for the whole day while I am at the office, boy I am wrong...with air conditioning this high and cold, with so much dust outside and with the sweltering weather...I should have listened...now what?

deal with it and wait until I get my hands on my spare contact lenses at home.

I don't remember when I started using contact lenses, I used to have my Prada eye wear but I grew tired of wearing it, I feel old when I am wearing it so I put it away, I only wear it when I am at home or when I don't have my contact lens on. I still have it though, the frame is quite expensive say like $270 so I don't want to give it up, I just have to upgrade the lenses, that's all.

the contact lenses that I am using costs $44 for three pairs, each pair is good for a month. The lady who assisted me from Visual Optics DIFC branch gave me another new pair to wear so I don't have to open the new J&J box of contact lenses that I bought. Great, that's the discount part. :)

Lesson learned, keep the essentials on the bag so when accidents happen, I am well prepared.

How to Apply for Children's Residence Visa Under Mother Sponsorship in Dubai 2019

Dubai, 29/09/2019 For expatriate married women living and working in Dubai especially those earning less than 10,000 dirhams salary per month and whose job description is not allowed to apply for visas for their family, sponsoring their children has never been easy until the recent changes in Dubai immigration rules that took effect mid of 2019 this year. The rule now allows any UAE resident (those who have a valid employment visa) male or  FEMALE can now sponsor family members provided that he or she earns a monthly salary of AED 4000 or AED 3000 plus accommodation according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. Back in the day, when I tried to sponsor my husband, my experience was completely different. You can read about it  here . Just this month, a friend of mine applied for her children's visa in Dubai. It was approved, and the visa was issued and stamped on her children's passports. We shared below the documents required and the step-by-step

Sinampalukang Isda (Tilapia/Sea Bream) Pang-alis Umay!

After Christmas and New Year holidays, do you feel you've had enough of the leftovers? I feel the same way. I needed something to break away from it. The first craving I had was a very Pinoy fish dish.  Sinampalukang isda. Some would think of it as sinigang but it is not sinigang. It is a soup dish of fish in tamarind broth, ginger, chilis, onions, tomatoes, radish leaves or pechay, and of course fish. Okay, it is like sinigang (hahaha). It usually calls for tilapia but I opted for sea bream. It is a completely hearty meal. Of course, to be eaten with hot steaming rice and sawsawan (a mixture of fish sauce and green chili) The original dish calls for fresh raw tamarind but since it is hardly available where I am, I used powdered tamarind. The difference is that fresh raw tamarind gives this dish a thick broth distinct from sinampalukang isda my parents used to cook for us, unlike powdered tamarind. (oh well ex-pat life) So, how to cook it? Ingredients (serves 2) 1 medium-size sea

10 Camping Essentials l Al Qudra Lakes Dubai Overnight Camping

One of the favorite things we like to do at this time of year here in Dubai is to go on a desert camping. Imagine full day sun, clear blue skies, cool breeze, .00001 percent chance of rain while in a beautiful desert landscape. It's a camper's dream. Same time last year, we camped at  Al Aryam Island in Abu Dhabi , also a perfect camping spot. This time around, we didn't go far. We drove just 45 minutes to Al Qudra Lakes inside Saih Al Salam Desert, on the outskirts of Dubai. Al Qudra Lakes is a man-made lake that spans up to 10 hectares and home to more than 100 species of birds including migratory birds. A wonderful place to camp with family and friends We used the Waze app to get there. The only problem was, once you reach the area, it was difficult for the app to help you navigate. We were already going in circles, good thing we luckily found our friends who came early to set up camp. It was dark as there is no lamp post, there is no signage either so it is
