Things to do in Fujairah

If you are looking for a place to stay in Fujairah during the summer months,  there are a number of hotels that line the beaches like Royal Beach Hotel and Resorts, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach,

Fujairah Rotana Hotels and Resorts, Fujairah JAL Hotel Resort and Spa, Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort and Hilton Fujairah Resort to name a few, room rates ranges from a backpackers budget to the most expensive ones and you should eye on the summer rates and promotions of different hotels to get a good deal for your money. These hotels are packed with activities that are customizable according to your request and liking, prices vary depending on the event organizers having their offices in the hotel and some are organized by the hotel itself. Activities include beach volleyball, tennis, table tennis, beach soccer/football, billiards, darts tournament, desert safari, giant garden chess, squash, table football, shows at the amphitheatre, archery, badminton, bicycling, bird watching, golf, historical tour/sightseeing tours, minigolf, mountain safari, wadi bashing trips and island hopping.

Another attractions in Fujairah is Wadi Wurayah-a protected mountain area in the UAE and is believed to be the home to the country's last Arabian leopard. It is advisable to visit the place when there is no rain predicted over the area, it is not advisable to go there during winter season when the country experience rain showers as it can get very dangerous as rain water rises quickly up to alert level. The road to the wadi is rocky and small cars cannot go deep into the rock mountains, some leave their cars at the mouth of the wadi and trek all the way inside and those who have 4x4 cars can enjoy a bumpy fun ride. There is a small waterfall and a place to swim. Ideally, you can go there early in the morning before it gets crowded.

Al Bidya Mosque or also known as Al Badiyah or Al Badiya is the oldest mosque in the UAE, as old as 1446 AD and it is located in Fujairah, it is also one of the popular tourist stop over in Khor Fakkan.

  1. Hi Carla,

Thanks a lot for the mention :)

We were in Fujairah on the weekend and drove past the Oman inclave at Wadi Madbah, you might consider it too :)

By the way, here's greeting you and your family Ramadan Kareem!

  3. Fujairah may be just a one-hour drive from Dubai (or two hours if you’re travelling from Abu Dhabi) but the dramatic landscape of this east coast gem makes it feel like a different world.
Fujairah Hotels are some of the stupendously extravagant places to stay.

How to Apply for Children's Residence Visa Under Mother Sponsorship in Dubai 2019

Dubai, 29/09/2019 For expatriate married women living and working in Dubai especially those earning less than 10,000 dirhams salary per month and whose job description is not allowed to apply for visas for their family, sponsoring their children has never been easy until the recent changes in Dubai immigration rules that took effect mid of 2019 this year. The rule now allows any UAE resident (those who have a valid employment visa) male or  FEMALE can now sponsor family members provided that he or she earns a monthly salary of AED 4000 or AED 3000 plus accommodation according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. Back in the day, when I tried to sponsor my husband, my experience was completely different. You can read about it  here . Just this month, a friend of mine applied for her children's visa in Dubai. It was approved, and the visa was issued and stamped on her children's passports. We shared below the documents required and the step-by-step

Sinampalukang Isda (Tilapia/Sea Bream) Pang-alis Umay!

After Christmas and New Year holidays, do you feel you've had enough of the leftovers? I feel the same way. I needed something to break away from it. The first craving I had was a very Pinoy fish dish.  Sinampalukang isda. Some would think of it as sinigang but it is not sinigang. It is a soup dish of fish in tamarind broth, ginger, chilis, onions, tomatoes, radish leaves or pechay, and of course fish. Okay, it is like sinigang (hahaha). It usually calls for tilapia but I opted for sea bream. It is a completely hearty meal. Of course, to be eaten with hot steaming rice and sawsawan (a mixture of fish sauce and green chili) The original dish calls for fresh raw tamarind but since it is hardly available where I am, I used powdered tamarind. The difference is that fresh raw tamarind gives this dish a thick broth distinct from sinampalukang isda my parents used to cook for us, unlike powdered tamarind. (oh well ex-pat life) So, how to cook it? Ingredients (serves 2) 1 medium-size sea
