Pik-Nik at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi

I woke up this morning with the sun peeking at my windows sill.

I jumped out of the bed to take a look outside and it already stopped raining. It was raining for a couple of days but today is bright and sunny.

We usually have an unlimited perfectly painted blue sky like this every single day here in Dubai and since we are already in November, there's a hint of winter in the air.

I hope the weekend will be as bright, clear and sunny like today so we can all have a wonderful time outdoors, go to the beach or the park or go on a picnic...

Pik Nik - British style at the grounds of The Westin Mina Seyah would be nice, just like what we did a couple of weeks ago.

I feel a sudden rush of excitement at the sight of this. I've been wanting to do a full English picnic complete with wicker baskets filled with goodies inside. When Ferald told me he is off the same day Westin is launching their fun, family-friendly offer call Pik-Nik, I was thrilled and immediately confirmed.

We were given a token at the entrance and went on to collect our picnic basket, paid the gent using our token at the food counter. We found a shady spot, one in a corner under a date tree.

There were also benches available but we like the tartan family rugs spread out over well manicured green lawns with big red comfy bean bags

The picnic basket is filled with lots of things. There were four different salads in labelled glass jars with separate dressing in small glass containers, cheeses, pickled olives, cold cuts, baguette, soft breads, madeleines, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate coated peanuts, a big bottle of water and sweet tea.

The basket also includes plates and cutleries, all what was left for us to do is to lay all the food and enjoy.

I made some sandwiches (the little helper next to me was already munching on some smoked turkey ham)

and dressed our salads

The picnic basket is included in the basic package (good for 2 adults and 2 kids at AED 390) while the sausages, steak and burgers are billed separately

There's live music

and entertainment for the kids.

There's also some sort of jungle gym where kids can learn some circus tricks and there's plenty of space for them to run around

The picnic starts at 11:30 up to 4 pm. Just enough time to have a proper picnic meal, lots of time to run around for the kids and a little more time for lounging and soaking in vitamin D.

Pik-Nik is on weekends every Saturdays at the Westin lawns.

Take your family, take your friends and enjoy the outdoors, it's amazing feeling just to be out in the sun at this time of the year. Do it before it gets chilly.

oh and don't forget a souvenir photo to remember this very English fair for your instagram.
