We came to visit The Royal Budha sitting at the ground floor of Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha. Dined and tasted their award winning Thai recipes and felt royal for few hours as we relish a gratifying meal freshly cooked for us by the chef.
I love crabs. Actually I am crazy about it. Back in the Philippines, I can eat two big fat steamed mud crabs alone but since it is rarely available here in Dubai I go for fresh water crabs and I can finish four or five in one sitting, depending on the size of it. I don't know how to cook any other crab dish except for the easiest steamed crabs. I eat it with bare hands, dip the crab meat in a Filipino style vinaigrette which is just a simple mixture of palm fruit vinegar, crushed garlic, salt and pepper. Eat it with rice and I am a happy kid.
When I think of Thai food, the first thing that comes to my mind is Pad Thai, my favorite Thai noodle dish and the artistic garnishes in Thai cuisine. The recently concluded Amazing Taste of Thailand 2014, a 10-day event saw me through the tastiest Thai food, astounding Thai music, incessant Thai creativity, and unabating hospitality of the Thai people here in Dubai. The experience got even better when I was invited to a cooking class organized by the Royal Consulate of Thailand in Dubai with the Thai diplomatic wives and ladies. Myself among other participants were given the opportunity to learn how to cook three famous Thai dishes the Pad Thai, Tom Yum goong (spicy and sour chicken/prawn soup) and Tub Tim grob also know as the red ruby (water chestnut in coconut sauce.)
Sawasdee Dubai!
