14 Years of Fun at Adventureland

No comments:

Adventureland, Sahara Center Sharjah's amusement indoor theme park celebrated its 14th anniversary last January 20, 2016.

Among the invited were kids and young adults from SNF Development Centre who all had a blast during the program.

Some of mommy and Dubai based bloggers and kids joined in the fun.

I can still remember Mica's 1st birthday was celebrated here. It was also our most frequented indoor play place for our daughter back then. 11 years after, she is now the biggest among this group of kids.

After the program and the much needed fueling from Panos, our kids went on to enjoy the rest of the morning playing in the park.

While Prince and Aya ride the Jungle Explorer's choo choo train and played other games

my older child had an amazing time riding bigger rides like the rocket cycles - it is the first custom-made motorbike rollercoaster in the region.

This motorbikes on wheels run on elevated loops and tracks all around the park, taking riders to exhilarating thrills & excitement

I think she rode three times.

It was way too fast for me to catch it for picture though.

Adventureland is open from 10 am -11 pm - Sunday to Wednesday
And from 10 am to 12 mn - Thursday to Saturday

Bentgo Kids to the rescue!

1 comment:
I finally found the perfect lunch box for my son.

I've been looking for this type of lunchbox since my eldest started school many years ago but to no avail. I can't tell you enough how frustrated I was with the lunch boxes that's available here in Dubai. My daughter always come home with a messy lunch box carrier. Now that she's in Grade 7, she brings pocket money to school and buy lunch from her school canteen.

Thankfully, Abigal and I became friends. Abigail of Cuddles and Crumbs is a Dubai based mommy blogger who carefully and lovingly prepares bento boxes for her kids and every time she has a new design she shares it in her instagram. Here is her latest bento box, Minions!!!

She was very kind enough to help me to obtain this Bentgo Kids from the US. My son's school lunches don't look as pretty as her bento boxes but I am really happy that my son can open his lunch box and find his food in neat condition.

This Bentgo Kids lunch box is spill proof and that's what make me the happiest mom. I don't normally share my bento boxes but I feel that many moms with school children will benefit to have the same bento box.

Rice, bistek tagalog, apple slices, grapes and yogurt

Rice, chicken bbq, orange slices, animal shape biscuits and m&ms

Puto (rice cake), bbq chicken, apple slices, pretzel, and biscuits

Rice, orange slices, beef picadillo, glucose biscuits, and sour gummies

Rice, egg omellete, orange slices, sausage slices and ketchup

I know that I need to incorporate more healthy stuff in this box. Add more veggies I suppose, I only realized now that I put all the photos that I have given Prince fruits but no veggies. I'll keep that in mind. You might have noticed that there is always rice, Pinoy's are like that, rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. :)

Do you pack lunch boxes of your kids? Which type of lunch box do you use? Please feel free to share your thoughts with us.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!!

Zaroob Comes to Sharjah

No comments:
Zaroob is that colorful, eye-catching and unique restaurant along Sheikh Zayed Road somewhere around the DIFC area. It is a owned by Zuhour Group, Zaroob specializes and famous for their authentic and traditional Levantine street-food inspired dishes.

It has been in my radar for a while now but never had to chance to check them out.

The best thing, they are now in Sharjah along Khaled Lagoon (Sharjah Corniche) after the Central Park and just a stone throw away from our place. Since the weather is still pleasant, the kids and I just walked our way to it to check them out on their opening day

We were seated al fresco with the best view of the Khaled Lagoon.

and later joined by a friend and blogger - Ion of Boy Dubai.

So many people came down during the opening day and all were giddy to have Zaroob as an addition to the growing food scene in this area.

The restaurant opening set menu

Our friend here poured us cups of free flowing and very refreshing tamarind juice. The kids are new to it and did not drink it but I liked it, it brings back good memories.

Back home in Bulacan - the province where I grew up, I remember my dad making tamarind juice for us when it is in season. It is sweet, sour and very refreshing.

There was hoummus, tabouleh, fatoush, arabic bread, falafel, warm foul, wrapped turkey ham Man'oushe and chicken shawarma for sharing.

I haven't eaten foul before even if it was always available in most restaurants I've been to that serves Arabic food, I tried it this time and I'm glad I did as it was delicious.

I still haven't tried the koushari that day as I am already full giving me an excuse to visit Zaroob again.

After brunch, the kids and I walked back home feeling extra happy.

Tribeca Kitchen & Bar Turns 1

No comments:
When I was invited to join celebrate Tribeca's first year anniversary last January 20, I gladly confirmed and grab my best girl friend to join me.

Love this photo of me and my friend Jeah by Dubai Night

Tribeca's unique and arty edge is what drives me to it. I fell in love with the place. We arrived early and we get to chose one of the prettiest couch to sit on while watching the crowd grew and get merrier as the night falls deeper.

It was a night to remember as we bumped with VIPs, media, musicians, other bloggers, fashionistas, models and loyal customers and danced in the music of DJ CN Williams, accompanied by a sax player.

It was a wonderful year for Tribeca after having successfully launched several events including two Ladies Nights and their very own successful Night Market. They continue to entertain guests with different offerings including movie nights, comedy nights and live music.  This year Tribeca is launching their new organic Paleo Menu and also a home delivery and catering menu.

The evening was a true representation of Tribeca’s presence in Dubai’s social scene – great environment, happy vibes and lots of good food and drinks

Happy 1st Tribeca!!!

For fresh food-to-go, think Pronto!

No comments:
Many times when we go out, my kids would ask for a snack to eat in the car even if we just ate at home. This happens often especially when we needed to stop by a petrol station to refuel and you know that it is not nice when there are hungry kids in the car and I don't know what's in a petrol station convenient store that my kids love to go inside and look around. One thing I am glad about is that in many petrol stations in Dubai, there's Pronto. If you want fresh food-to-go, think Pronto!

Pronto is a modern bakery cum coffee shop that you can find in 38 convenient locations. Twenty eight within ZOOM outlets and ENOC or EPPCO petrol stations, eight within stand alone ZOOM Mart, one in Discovery Gardens Pavilion and one at ENOC headquarters.

Pronto provides fresh, quick and reasonably-priced food and beverages.

My kids always ask for their treats-to-go, most of the time they go for blueberry and chocolate muffins but they also have Danish and pecan pastries. If the kids doesn't anything sweet, they would ask me to buy sausage rolls.

I know many of us here in Dubai are always in a hurry on the way to work in the morning, Pronto serves croissant and freshly brewed coffee in their morning-to-go. Just grab and go!

Proper and healthy lunch and dinner wouldn't be hard to find if you are that person whose always on the road because they also have fresh and healthy salads, sandwich and bagel, and freshly prepared.pizza and pasta.

and if pangs of hunger caught you at any time of day, their munchies-to-go like quiche, pies and manakeesh are very filling.

Conveniently quick and easy to grab food that taste good. Visit Pronto at select ZOOM stores or ENOC or EPPCO stations today.

Dubai Food Scene: Breakfast for Dinner at Denny's Al Manara Sheikh Zayed Road

No comments:
Al Manara street along Sheikh Zayed Road is a popular destination among foodies in Dubai. There are many restaurants that lined the street. There's Olive Garden - another American chain, plus a host of other outlets such as Jones the Grocer, Crumbs Elysee and Reem Al Bawadi. A recent addition to this growing strip of restaurants is Denny's - a South-Carolina based restaurant that took Dubai by storm. It opened last December 2015 and is located in the same building of Bertin Bistro. An invitation for their grand opening landed on my inbox but unfortunately it was conflicting with my work schedule.

I've been seeing mouth-watering breakfast specials from my friends social media posts but I didn't have the chance to visit the branch in Al Ghurair Mall in Deira. I only managed to go to the new branch to try my first ever Denny's breakfast during my short leave last holiday season and I am hooked.
