It's A Date with Disney On Ice

I've been flooding the blog with food posts lately so I thought of posting something different and something special today. It's about me and my daughter having a date and watching people perform on skates But they are not just regular people, they are the Disney Princesses and Heroes of Disney On Ice  including the very famous sisters Queen Elsa and Princess Anna and the lovable and funny snowman Olaf of the award winning Disney movie - Frozen. This year is Disney on Ice second year in Dubai. I have not seen Rockin Ever After last year but I heard it was great. photo credit: four communications I received two tickets from Four Communications - Disney On Ice PR company in Dubai. I needed to buy one more for my five year old son but strangely enough he refused to go with us even if he likes Olaf a lot. He just wanted to go to the toy store and check out some toys, that's all. The thing with Prince, when he wanted  something, it is very difficult to change his

A Slice of Turkey in Dubai

Bosporus 5th restaurant and the largest of all in UAE and in the Middle East, with a sitting capacity of over 300 people opened recently in Wafi City. The ever growing Dubai dining scene has another addition but the company explained that this expansion comes in response to the increasing demand for authentic Turkish food in the region. We were invited to witness a red carper event, all glitz and glamour with fantasy like characters to entertain.

The Award Winning "The Royal Budha"

We came to visit The Royal Budha sitting at the ground floor of Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha. Dined and tasted their award winning Thai recipes and felt royal for few hours as we relish a gratifying meal freshly cooked for us by the chef.

Sweet and Salty Ice Creams

One thing that will surely remind me of Icons Coffee Couture is it's signature salty ice creams that we tasted and dress our salads with during a bloggers meet about a couple of weeks ago. The salty range has herby pesto flavor, dense potato and fresh carrot variants, but the one I liked most was the one with tomato as it is light and very refreshing. Yes it is new, it is quirky and something we might haven't seen before but it ain't bad either, it was good actually especially for dressing summer salad recipes. It is part of Icons new range of ice cream offerings created for them by ice cream enthusiast and innovator Vasco Valenca De Sousa. The health conscious coffee shop located at a prime location at the 1st Floor of Souk Al Bahar is offering ice creams, smoothies, frappes naturally sweetened by agave and date syrups and now with ice cream for salads as well. So if you are feeling the heat while checking out Downtown Dubai and in need somethin

My Recke Multi-Cooker

I am passionate about cooking especially when it's for my family and I am glad to have a new kitchen helper that saves nutrients and vitamins, energy efficient, safe to use and easy to clean. I received a Recke Multi Cooker last month from the Dubai Recke team to try it out at home. So far I have used the Grain, Stew, Soup and Deep Fry functions. I sometimes switch to Pro when I felt like I needed to cook faster than the time set for each function and I even raise the temperature that suits my cooking needs.

The Sum of Us

I always look forward to meeting my fellow Filipino bloggers in Dubai, be it in one of the events where we are all invited or just a casual meet up we have scheduled ourselves. I think I've said (written) this before and I'd say it again, it makes me feel happy to be with like minded people and who has got the same passion as I do. (welcome back my social life) (big grin + wink). I haven't met Myla, Lady and Edcel before and I'm glad to meet them all this time. Big thanks to Gelo for summing us up in one place at The Sum of Us. Located at the ground floor of Burj Al Salam opposite Dubai World Trade Center, The Sum of Us is another gem of the current trend in restaurant interior design -the modern industrial look. They say this one is very similar to Tom & Serge because it has the same owners, I can't really comment on that since I haven't been there yet.

Pantry Cafe at Bay Square

The newly opened Pantry Cafe in Bay Square has an elegant industrial vibe. Offers premium casual dining that is not intimidating. The kitchen is a natural theater with a mix of staff working relentlessly. The dining area was divided into four sections. I liked this elevated communal dining setting but other diners beat us to it that's alright coz we were seated next to the bar and by the entrance where we could do some people watching and where the view was actually cooler Every bit of space is Instagram worthy and as usual I took loads of pictures.
